AVP, Environmental Underwriting (Finance)
Job Objectives:
Manage and grow a portfolio of environmental liability insurance products through strategic business relationships with wholesaler and retailer brokers. Utilize your business acumen and underwriting skills to develop pricing and negotiate terms and conditions in order to build a profitable book of business.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Underwrite new and renewal environmental insurance products and negotiation of policy terms and conditions while adhering to Allied World Environmental Underwriting Guidelines.
· Distribution management: strategically develop broker distribution in order to generate new business opportunities and manage existing accounts.
· Prepare quotes, binders, referrals, and underwriting file documentation in compliance with company guidelines.
· Develop and manage positive and effective working relationships with a commitment to service for all associates (brokers, insureds, and internal personnel) leading to high customer satisfaction.
· Coordinate and perform regular marketing calls, account stewardship meetings, and events to promote product offerings, participate in local professional organizations, and remain current and engaged with existing and prospect insureds and brokers on key developments in the marketplace.
· Continue professional development through relevant training courses, continuing education, and/or seminars.
· Approximately 25% travel required.
· Ten (10) or more years of experience underwriting environmental liability insurance products including site pollution, contractors' pollution, and contractors' professional policies working with both retail and wholesale brokers.
· Practical knowledge and experience with all environmental liability products and services.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with both internal and external contacts.
· Ability to provide superior customer service to our brokers and insureds.
· Strong analytical and computer skills.
· Strong business and relationship management skills to develop new business opportunities, retain renewal accounts and establish long term strategic broker relationships.
· Excellent organizational and desk management skills with ability to work independently and demonstrate effective prioritization of workload.
· CPCU or ARM, designations preferred.
· Undergraduate degree required.
