Manager, Corporate FP&A (Finance)

Manager, Corporate FP&A

The Opportunity

The Manager, Corporate FP&A will primarily be tasked with FP&A related duties (forecasting, budgeting, flux analysis etc.) of assigned Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield corporate legal entities and overhead business units. This person will be the primary contact for any administrative expense (payroll, T&E, professional fees etc.) related questions. This portion of the role is scoped out as an individual contributor.

In addition, Manager will oversee all aspects of the Accounting function of our DDC (Design, Development & Construction) division, including supervising the work of a DDC Staff Accountant. Our DDC division is responsible for bringing our development/redevelopment projects to life. That said, the Accounting function deals with the entire lifecycle of said projects.

Responsibilities for the role:

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Prepare the quarterly forecast and annual 5-year business plan (5YBP) for each of the business units assigned. This includes:
  • Partnering with HR to obtain the most recent roster for each business unit
  • Preparing working forecast and budget reports to distribute (and potentially discuss) with each respective department head
  • Analyzing and identifying trends of each respective business unit in order to provide valuable recommendations on setting an appropriate forecast/budget targets
  • Act as co-administrator of relevant ERP systems overseeing such tasks as initiating forecast/budget cycles, partnering with IT to roll templates forward etc.
  • Assist with entering department head inputs into ERP system

Business Analysis:

• Prepare flux/variance analysis for respective business unit figures. More precisely:
  • Identifying and explaining material key drivers and its related impacts on the financial statements to relevant stakeholders to help set and achieve action plans
  • Enter flux analysis commentary into designated template (forecast vs. budget, year-to-date actuals vs. year-to-date budget etc.)

Reporting:

• Consolidate and summarize material flux analysis findings into the Quarterly Flash Report (QFR) and 5YBP admin book.  This can include:
  • Building analysis bridges
  • Populating detailed schedules in support of certain administrative expense categories
  • Put together decks in preparation for quarterly or annual budget presentations
  • Ad-hoc reporting requested by either local US leadership or global management team

Accounting:

• Oversee and maintain the books of DDC related entities by supervising the work of our DDC Staff Accountant
  • Review, approve and post project related journal entries
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provide guidance and direction to Staff Accountant on more complex topics
  • Calculate standard cost rates for DDC division
• Occasionally assist in preparing accurate overhead related journal entries by leveraging knowledge gained from forecasting and budgeting meetings held with respective department heads
• When needed, prepare detailed GL account reconciliations and book overhead related journal entries

Ad-hoc:

• New business lines/opportunities, processes etc. may require the role to contribute in an ad-hoc capacity. For example, but not limited to, contributing to building out a new full cycle process that is tailored to accommodate a new business line
• Assist with special projects as they arise e.g. partnering with Executive Management team to reforecast admin expenses in anticipation of a potential company reorganization or changing processes that requires the rebuild of existing ERP system templates etc.
• Participate in new system implementation projects
• Additional responsibilities might include other duties as assigned by management

What we are looking for

• 6+ years of accounting and financial analysis experience (Retail or Commercial Real Estate preferred) with general ledger and financial statement preparation experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus (SAP BPC, JD Edwards E1, IBM Cognos TM1 etc.)
• Proficiency in Excel
• Must be curious, proactive and able to challenge status quo while having excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with senior management

Compensation

• $110,000 - $130,000 per year + Annual Discretionary Bonus
