Director of Revenue Cycle (Finance)
Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures such as patient registration, patient accounting, preparation of patient and/or third party bills, collection of patient accounts, flow of correspondence, filing, requisition of supplies, and other functions of the department.
Evaluates office production, revises procedures, or devises new forms to improve efficiency of work flow.
Develops, reviews and revises departmental policies and procedures.
Works with CFO and Revenue Cycle Analyst to review, oversee and monitor all billing activities and third party payer agreements
Evaluates the effectiveness of outside collection agencies, reviews system reports, and approves charge-offs to agencies per policy.
Ensures orientation and continued education and training are provided to the Patient Financial Services and HIM staff.
Reviews records to insure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
Establishes realistic, innovative departmental objectives and participates as a management team member in meeting such objectives for the facility.
Stays abreast of latest regulatory/compliance requirements, developments and trends in the field of Patient Accounting by attending seminars/workshops and actively participating in interdisciplinary committees.
Preparation of annual departmental and capital budgets to ensure that necessary funds to carry out the goals and objectives are established and that the department functions within the budgetary guidelines.
Oversee the daily operational activities of the Health Information Management and staff.
Project management responsibilities including design, supervision, and budgets for HIM department.
Responsible for compiling and reporting all mandatory (state and federal) statistics including delinquency reports for medical staff reporting.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises Manager of Admissions
Directly supervises all Health Information Management and Patient Financial Services team members.

While performing the duties of this job, employees occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
The level of risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens is Classification III, as outlined in the Hepatitis B Vaccine Program Policy.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Accounting, Finance or related field and 3 years of management-level experience in hospital revenue cycle.
COMPETENCIES/CERTIFICATIONS
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). (Preferred)
