The Systems Engineer I is responsible for implementing, managing, tuning and testing recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. This position serves as a technical expert in system administration for complex operating systems. Participates in the implementation and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides technical expertise to provide a high level of service company wide. Installs, updates, and maintains all computer equipment and throughout the organization.What you'll be doing

• Utilize analytical, statistical skills and interpretive abilities to analyze data and make recommendations for improvements or changes on all IT Operations technologies including end-user, server, and cloud applications; server and desktop operating systems; tablet, laptop, and server hardware; and other office devices such as printers and conference room audio and video equipment.
• Participate in projects under minimal supervision with a professional demeanor and excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal customers, other technical team members, and vendors.
• Use understanding of concepts related to information system applications, networks, and interfaces to assist in managing systems and planning technical implementations of infrastructure technologies which may include leading and coordinating others, communicating with stakeholders and affected parties, and creating and updating technical documentation.
• Assist with efforts in mergers and acquisitions to assimilate and standardize office environments related to IT equipment deployment, installation and configuration and migration of systems and data.
• React to change productively and train lower-level administrators effectively on new technology. De-escalate conflict during difficult moments (service outages, customer escalations, etc.)
• Travel domestically or internationally to support global Datacenters, offices, and events.
• Hold oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus' Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.

What you bring to the table

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or equivalent and six (6) years previous IT support experience ; or high school diploma and ten (10) years previous IT support experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (desktop and server), Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory/Azure, VMWare, SAN/NAS, M365 Administration (licensing, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Demonstrated knowledge of general networking concepts and troubleshooting, and familiarity with Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls, phone software, and Intel-based computers.
• Demonstrated proficiency using PowerShell modules (especially the Graph PowerShell SDK) to work with and make changes to systems and data in the environment and automate repeatable processes with a focus on Active Directory , Exchange Online, Azure, et cetera .
• Demonstrated communication skills to train and aid others in computer software, and business applications and services; ability to communicate problems with senior engineers and management, as they become known.
• Highly preferred experience with Intune. Preferred experience with Azure, Cisco Meraki, Okta or other SSO platforms , Dynamics CRM, Salesforce, SQL, ITSM and CMDB systems as well as end point patch management software.
