Instructional Designer (Finance)
RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Implements strategies to achieve the goals for the organization and leads the design, development and delivery of training programs. Implements, revises, and sustains policies, procedures, and programs. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 3-12 months.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Responsible for the entire design life cycle of self-directed, web-based, or in-person learning solutions, including developing storyboards and scripts, course authoring, materials, tools, and multimedia. Independently applies ID methodology, including the ADDIE model (Apply, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate), inclusive learning practices and adult learning principles to learning solution design, development and delivery into the Learning Management System (LMS).
2. Creates and leads basic to intermediate learning design projects. Updates existing programs by applying new delivery methodologies, learning trends and solutions that maintain the quality training program or learning initiative.
3. Strategizes unique, effective and inclusive learning options to cater to a wide range of learners. Develops strong communication metrics to evaluate learning and program efficacy.
4. Presents creative solutions to learning cognizant of internal and external business partnerships. Draws connections between learning within a large enterprise to optimize learning and engagement solutions. Is able to develop, create and link communication, branding and messaging throughout programming and establish new ways to share key information.
5. Shared Services: Supports the management of select recurring projects, programs, and/or relationships (e.g. Career Compass, Learning and Development SharePoint site). Supports the design of the LMS as part of creating an ideal, positive end-user learner experience (e.g. look, feel, functionality, ease of use).
6. Partners with business and/or technical subject matter experts (SMEs) on IT, safety, compliance, leadership, DEI and employee learning projects as dictated by organizational goals and initiatives.
7. Applies change management principles to involve end users in project activities and to ensure project timelines include milestones for communication and learning activities.
8. Project and Change Management: Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments. May serve as a team member or subject matter expert on formal projects or within the department. Effectively engages in change affecting her/him, communicating appropriately with supervisor. Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.
9. Problem Solving: Light supervision; works independently. Periodic review of work by manager or senior coworker. Solves problems of moderate to advanced complexity; able to identify root cause, interpret data and resolve issues.
10. Technical Skill: Understands and applies professional principles and skills within area of specialization to modify processes to resolve situations.
11. Community Engagement: Champions Goodwill's community engagement initiatives and serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community.
12. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
2. Work experience involving fully cycle development of a training program, including curriculum design, coordination, facilitation, and evaluation.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word).
4. Proficiency in two or more of the following multi-media tools, including foundational skills necessary to produce e-Learning modules that incorporate graphics, video and audio inputs: Articulate Storyline, and Adobe Creative (Acrobat Pro, Audition, Captivate, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premier Pro) and Vyond. SharePoint experience preferred. Experience in troubleshooting and system testing software and courseware.
5. Ability to travel to satellite (including Illinois) locations to provide consultation and to support special projects.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
Remain stationary for extended periods of time, repetitive use of hands and vision required while using computer keyboard and work with electronic information, ability to hear and communicate on phone and in person, moves about to accomplish tasks, ability to travel to multiple sites.
