Overview
The Solution Architect is responsible for the overall technical design of the solution and for oversight of technical decisions within the project. In alignment with enterprise architectural practices, the solution architect works closely with a team of Solutions Managers, Business Systems Analysts, UX Designers, and others to ensure a high quality, well-designed solution is delivered to the client.
Responsibilities
• Work as part of a project team to deliver comprehensive solutions to meet business capability requirements.
• Provide support to the project team members, during functional requirements definition to ensure that functionality is both technically achievable and feasible within the project constraints.
• Work with members of the team to ensure that the solution design and implementation meets the architectural goals, applicable standards and business objectives.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential technical risks.
• Work in partnership with multidisciplinary teams to deliver well-designed, scalable, and sustainable solutions.
• Ensure the architecture of a solution adheres to enterprise principles and standards across all architectural domains.
• Assist in managing & governing the technical portfolio.
• Assist in governing the proper platform use and minimize customizations.
• Lead education and knowledge transfer on industry standard uses of applicable platforms and related technology.
• Facilitate as needed to implement, support, and sustain portfolio technology (including testing support, documentation, platform configuration, troubleshooting, etc.).
• Collaboratively participate throughout the development life cycle.
• Work with end users, and leadership to define solutions, manage functional requirements, and oversee the delivery of solutions.
• Oversee Validation and document system designs and changes to be compliant in a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects on the development and implementation of standards.
• Closely collaborates with functional subject matter experts, business analysts / product owners, infrastructure operations, digital team members and other information systems developers.
• Serves as the subject matter expert and provides technical direction, implementation, configuration, development and administration for equipment integration, automation as needed, and platforms/solutions.
• Collaborates with a team that is focused on the digital transformation of Regulatory and Research & Development Engineering.
• Actively works on deployments providing business process expertise, change management, Cloud systems know-how and project management to successfully deliver RIMS/Product Lifecycle Management/Enterprise Labeling projects.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of multiple fields of Information Technology such as applications, databases, infrastructure or security
• Demonstrated progressive experience in software/solution architecture design or development
• Expertise in working with database technologies and scripting
• Experience in leading a business through a business process transformation and applying leading change management techniques to address organizational challenges.
• Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally Medical Device
Physical Requirements:
• Works under general office environmental conditions
• Sitting for extended periods
• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, etc.
• International and domestic travel as required
• Requires ability to work outside normal working hours and occasional weekends/holidays
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA
