ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Office of Decision Support (ODS) facilitates leadership decision-making by providing data, analysis, business solutions and reporting for USF and coordinates academic planning, reporting and related needs for USF. ODS supports the University by ensuring competitive performance, compliance with regulations and policies, and institutional accreditation.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assessment Compliance Analyst (ACA) is a collaborator with an understanding of quality improvement, and helps support the efforts of faculty, administrators, and staff across USF's three campuses to assess outcomes at various levels. This role specifically supports the assessment of administrative, student learning, and student development outcomes across various units of the institution by providing technical support and participating in assessment planning and review. The ACA is the functional owner of the institutional level process for collecting and reporting documentation about programmatic/specialized accreditation at USF. As a member of the Institutional Effectiveness (IE) team, the ACA works in a dynamic context to maintain institutional accreditation by supporting faculty credentialing, quality assurance, and other process improvement efforts. Finally, this role functions as the hub of web presence, including data visualization and software vendor communication for the IE team. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Accreditation, Regulatory Compliance, and Assessment. A physical workspace will be available on the Tampa campus, but much of the work is conducted remotely via video conference on Microsoft Teams and includes occasional travel to the other campuses of USF.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate assessments of academic programs, student support services, institutes/centers, and administrative units for compliance with state and institutional policy and accreditation standards and policies and provide feedback to faculty and staff to improve assessments.
Develop and provide trainings, individualized, and group support for stakeholders related to assessment processes and systems.
Maintain an inventory of programmatic/specialized accreditation across USF via annual and regular communication with various college and program stakeholders. Collect, review for verification of external data accuracy, and archive accreditation submissions for individual programs.
Assist with institutional accreditation initiatives, ensuring compliance with complex regulatory and accreditor requirements. Assist in the production of self-studies via navigating accreditation and assessment related software.
Provide generalized support for the IE unit, including serving as the primary point of contact for IE website updates and innovation (such as data visualizations), providing mentorship (and potentially supervision) of student assistant(s) within the IE unit when appropriate, and serving as technical liaison for IE-related software products.
Performs other duties as assigned to include unit website maintenance and accreditation documentation compilation.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of related experience.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
Master's degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field. At least two years of demonstrated successful experience with institutional effectiveness and continuous quality improvement in an institution of higher education, including learning outcomes assessment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to work effectively with both faculty and administrative staff.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize work effectively, and meet deadlines. A strong understanding of learning outcomes assessment strategies. Proficiency in using accreditation and assessment software such as Xitracs and intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suites. The ability to spot errors, inconsistencies, and areas of improvement in various types of content and processes. The ability to interpret and understand policy implications, make recommendations for policy changes, and communicate these effectively to stakeholders.
