SME Corrosion (Engineering)
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as chemistry, materials science, microbiology, or chemical engineering. Advanced certifications or degrees would be an advantage.
Extensive industry experience and expertise in corrosion control, microbiology, and water treatment, with a focus on practical applications in oilfield settings.
In-depth knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, microbiological growth, and water treatment processes, including chemical treatments, filtration, disinfection, and monitoring techniques.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices, such as AMPP, ASTM, API, and regulatory requirements for water quality.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify underlying issues, and develop effective solutions.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven track record of successfully implementing corrosion control and water treatment programs, achieving measurable results in terms of reducing corrosion-related incidents and improving water quality.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Professional certifications, such as NACE Certified Internal Corrosion Technologist (CCT), Certified Industrial Microbiologist (CIM), or Certified Water Treatment Specialist (CWTS), would be desirable.
