Johnsonville, LLC IT Platform Solutions Architect - Coach Position Overview: The IT Platform Solutions Architect - Coach is accountable for defining and innovating the footprint that is the organization's IT platforms and systems and leading the team of engineers which configure and maintain the platform solutions in play. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to strategize on the design and optimization of our IT infrastructure. Responsible for developing, communicating and driving platform strategies, you will proactively solicit partner strategies and market trends, and drive IT platform and systems maintenance and refactoring plans for cost-effective and pragmatic execution and agility. Responsibilities:
Maintain and refresh IT platform solution roadmaps, consulting with partners and IT Business Relationship Managers
Strategize and define directives for investigation, deployment and/or refactoring of platform workloads, consulting with Cloud Server Administrators and Platform Solutions Engineers
Participate in optimization of hardware and software configurations to meet performance and scalability requirements
Set platform performance standards and metrics and conduct regular evaluation to confirm adherence
Define performance optimization strategies to enhance overall system responsiveness
Implement and enforce security best practices for IT platforms
Collaborate with the security team to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities and risks
Consult on development of automation scripts to streamline platform configuration and management processes
Responsible for maintaining consistency across the global IT environment
Ensure comprehensive documentation for platform configurations, processes, and procedures exists and is accessible/relevant
Respond to and resolve platform-related issues, collaborating with support teams and vendors as necessary
Participate in on-call rotation to provide timely support for critical incidents
Lead a team of engineers focused on personal growth and development, using the Johnsonville coaching philosophy of using the business to build people
Education:
A background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 8 years' direct IT experience working with platform solutions in a role involving configuration, toubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring and deployment
At least 5 years of direct experience supporting vendor platform technologies preferred
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Skills:
Proven ability to motivate others and affect change
Requires a combination of strong technical knowledge and leadership skills; successful experience in a coaching position with proven ability to provide direction
Demonstrated expertise for the vendor software platforms to be managed (i.e. SAP, Jitterbit, o9)
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible)
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Growth mindset and willingness to learn new skills, technologies and frameworks
Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and practices
Other:
Willingness to work hours outside of normal hours as needed
Ability to travel, domestic and International
On-call rotation (7x24) with other team members
