FL Field Systems Engineer (with Electrical Installation Experience) (Engineering)

Position Summary: The Field Systems Engineer develops, builds, installs, and maintains location-based camera systems and related support equipment at attractions and rides within various themed amusement parks under licensed contract. This position occasionally requires out of area travel that may last from several days to weeks depending on the scope of the project. When not traveling for installation projects, this position includes work in a shop environment to repair, test, assemble, and document camera systems and related equipment. Good communications and interpersonal skills are required to communicate ideas and concepts with coworkers and licensees (our customers) and troubleshoot complex technical issues by telephone and/or by remote computer access.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assemble, configure, test, and document camera systems in the development and production phases with minimal supervision.
Software and driver installation on computer systems and firmware updates of hardware.
Installation and maintenance of photographic systems and associated support hardware at various rides and attractions.
Run and terminate wire and cabling to interconnect camera system elements to power, data, sensors, and control systems.
Builds and assembles equipment based on the needs of a particular attraction or ride.
Enjoys working and collaborating with a team to develop innovative approaches to complex installation situations.
Passionate about developing solutions and taking ownership of projects.
Understands and observes hardware and software dynamics currently in use and participates in updates and replacements as appropriate for upgraded and obsolete equipment.
Works at night (or early mornings) in outdoor or indoor conditions within closed facilities and attractions to repair and install equipment.
Requirements
Knowledgeable in the use of VOM meters to measure and document voltage and current readings, trace wires, detect wire shorts and opens.
Basic understanding of electronic laws (ohms) and principals as they apply for calculating proper wire sizing, power sourcing, and loading.
Knowledgeable in DC and AC circuit tracing and troubleshooting.
Dexterous with basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, wire cutter and stripper, wire crimper, RJ45 crimper, and other such tools.
Mechanical knowledge and skills working with light industrial tools to ensure proper and safe installations of elevated and sometimes hidden camera equipment in themed amusement park rides.
Ability to read blueprints, flowcharts, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documents.
Possesses good hands-on technical knowledge and experience of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), RJ45 network termination, wire ferrule terminal blocks, M12 connectors, optical and magnetic proximity sensors.
Ability to work with industrial equipment in high places/locations.
25% overnight travel required nationally and internationally as-needed for installation and maintenance projects; must have or be able to obtain a U.S. passport.
Day travel to various locations may be required.

EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent. Certification or Degree in Network Systems Administration, Electronics, Computer technology or similar credentials. Microsoft Certifications or Cisco certifications a plus.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in a technical installation environment. Theme Park or Attractions Technician experience preferred.
Environmental Demands: Work is performed in various types of environments such as a warehouse, office space, retail stores located in hotels and outdoor environments such as in theme parks. Indoor locations are temperature-controlled environments that are frequently noisy. Outdoor locations are subject to various weather extremes such as heat, cold, humidity and noise.
Physical Requirements: This job requires the ability to stand, sit, walk and perform tedious work for long periods of time. The role will also require reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, lifting numerous items up to 50 pounds occasionally, climbing ladders with stability in doing so, climbing and performing duties on scaffolding, ability to crawl into small spaces in elevated areas, manual dexterity; hearing and speaking understandably, ability to operate a motor vehicle with valid drivers license and follow the laws within the area's jurisdiction, etc.
Mental Requirements: This job requires a positive enthusiastic approach, good judgment, ability to work under stress, ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, reading, performing math functions, hearing and speaking understandably. Must be comfortable working at extreme heights. It also requires the ability to cooperate and work as a team with co-workers.
Equipment/Machinery Used: The nature of this work requires the use of various technical equipment & tools, cameras, computers, printers, cash registers, a vehicle, dollies, shipping equipment, computer keyboard, fax machine, calculator, telephone, credit card machine, cleaning supplies, small hand tools, heat press, monitors, soldering iron.
Special skills: High level of confidentiality of trade secrets, programming, etc. required. Outgoing, friendly personality, strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; conflict resolution skills; willing to learn; able to provide own transportation to fulfill requirements of the job; able to work after business hours and weekends as necessary and ability to work as a team with co-workers.
Certification/Licensure: Clean or Satisfactory DMV record and a valid Florida Drivers License and ability to follow the laws within area jurisdictions. Must possess or be able to complete related safety trainings as assigned including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout, Ladder Safety, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift Safety, PPE, etc.
Other requirements: Able to work flexible hours as needed.
