General Purpose
The Acquisitions Office Specialist is responsible for performing human resources-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions in acquisitions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, i9 compliance, background check compliance, arbitration agreement compliance, and HR audits for new assets.
Essential Duties
• Conduct regular audits of HR activities to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Provide guidance on compliance matters during policy and program development.
• Prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning compliance activities.
• Train and educate employees on regulations and industry practices pertaining to onboarding compliance
• Address employee concerns or questions
• Stay abreast of internal standards and business goals.
• Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, wage hour audits, and others.
• Sends out new i9s/background checks for acquisition employees. Complete i9 section 2 and all remaining tasks in i9 process.
• Gives quality customer service to building employees.
• Answers HR hotline phone lines/teams/emails and provides direction and answers to questions and concerns.
• Assists with processing of terminations/rescinding hires.
• Assists with recruitment at building level.
• Files documents into appropriate employee files.
• Assists or prepares correspondence.
• Prepares new employee files.
• Work with HRIS systems employees on testing in appropriate tenant of all functions for onboarding processes.
• Understands and works with HRIS system for hiring, profile adjustments, terminations, and more.
• Perform other duties as directed by Acquisition Manger.
Qualification Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in HR, with a strong background in auditing and compliance. In-depth knowledge of the industry's standards and regulations.
Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality.
Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
An analytical mind able to "see" the complexities of procedures and regulations.
Excellent communication skills.

Understanding of HR principles and practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems a plus Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Physical Demands
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, engage in prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer, and regularly perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, talking, reading, or hearing. Additionally, frequent use of office-related equipment, including copiers, scanners, fax machines, telephones, and calculators, is required.
Travel may be required up to 25% of the time in a month's period. Travel may be by air or car for extended hours.
