Warehouse Attendant (Finance)
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Unload, load, package and ship drums and totes into shipment containers and freight carriers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Safely operate forklift and associated equipment.
• Safe handling of hazardous materials in accordance to DOT requirements.
• Stencil/label containers per customer requirements.
• Load full drums and totes into proper shipment containers.
• Proper positioning and packaging/crating of loaded containers.
• Unload empty drums and totes.
• Checking drum/tote weights.
• Minor maintenance activities.
• Execute operating orders, work orders and associated documentation.
• Communicate and work with others to accomplish work tasks.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting. • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Daily housekeeping.
• Compliance with all Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to management.
• Other duties as directed or required.
Position Requirements
Education Requirements:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience/specific knowledge:
• Previous work experience in a warehouse setting as it relates to operating a forklift and other associated equipment.
Certifications, registrations, and licenses:
• Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) as issued by TSA (Transportation Security Administration).
• Ability to become a member of the facility Emergency Response Team, including successful completion and passing of the required training and certification courses in regards to Industrial Firefighting School and Confined Space Rescue Training.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.

• Ability to multi-task.
• Effectively communicate, verbally (face-to-face and by telephone) and in writing, in English with co-workers, contractors, customers, government officials and management.
• Read and understand written material (in English), including use and understanding of basic numerical calculations.
• Must have basic math skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to complete HAZ-MAT, DOT, Confined Space, and Lockout/Tag out training.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check upon job offer.
Physical demands:
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing to work in protected areas at heights greater than six (6) feet above ground.
• Must be able to work over water (dock).
• Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Must be able to hear and smell for deficiencies or hazards.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces (inside storage tanks).
• Must be able to pass a respiratory fit test.
• Must be able to perform tasks while wearing a full face respirator or supplied air.
• Overtime may be required and is anticipated.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Working conditions:
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed and required.
• Must be available to respond to call-out as assigned.
• Must be able to take direction from supervisor, keep required work schedule, focus on attention to details, and follow work rules.
• Must be able to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
• Must be able to withstand moderate noise levels.
Preferred experience and skills:
• Previous chemical, refining, terminal experience is preferred.
• Forklift operating experience preferred.
• Knowledge of PPE and industrial safety requirements.
