PRIMARY FUNCTION :
The primary function of this position is to determine the status of service needed for various equipment components( transmissions, engines, fuel systems, etc), perform the necessary service, repairs, replacements, installations, or re-building of parts and to restore the equipment to proper operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Education :
Must have a high school education or GED.
Work Experience :
Six years of experience with at least two years of experience on Cat or other similar equipment
Physical :
Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb beside, onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs. Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop written repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 70 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
Other :
Must be able to effectively write repair activities on customer work orders. Must have cognitive reasoning and problem solving skills to apply knowledge, written information and verbal instructions in repairing/servicing unusual and/or unknown technical equipment operational problems. Should have exposure to P.C. base equipment and parts information

initStaticMap(true); PRIMARY FUNCTION:\nThe primary function of this position is to determine the status of service needed for various equipment components( transmissions, engines, fuel systems, etc), perform the necessary service, repairs, replacements, installations, or re-building of parts and to restore the equipment to proper operation.\n \n \nESSENTIAL DUTIES:\n \n\nReview the work schedule, check the equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, comply with PPE requirements, and otherwise prepare for duties.\nUse manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot engines, engine fuel systems, & transmissions.\nUse lift trucks, overhead cranes, & other aides to lift or move parts into position to be repaired.\nUse hand & power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & test parts/equipment on engines, engine fuel systems, & transmissions.\nSet-up units in test apparatus, tests & verifies performance, then pressure washes & repaints parts/equipment. \nUse miscellaneous resources and computers to reference parts, get information about parts & enter data into record systems\nUse tools to disassemble/re assemble parts or engines; cleans parts with rags, cleaners, power washer; uses test equipment to make diagnostic checks; and controls powered equipment or tools to make repairs.\nLift/carry/ mount parts in powered equipment to do necessary grinding, honing, boring, drilling, & polishing, &, make replacement parts or refurbish parts before re-assembly, reassembles & tests units, power washes & paints finished units.\nUse precise measuring tools to determine conditions of all components & to monitor machining work done on components.\nUse hoist & forklift to move the equipment to the test bed & tests the equipment.\nPerform inspections, preventative maintenance, change oil, replace filters, belts, coolants, hoses, may drain/clean/refill fuel systems.\nPressure wash equipment & paint the equipment for shipment or installation.\nUse instruments and computers to reprogram equipment controllers\n\n \n \nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\n \nEducation:\nMust have a high school education or GED.\n \n \nWork Experience:\nSix years of experience with at least two years of experience on Cat or other similar equipment\n \n \nPhysical:\nMust be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb beside, onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs.
