Maintenance Mechanic II (Maintenance)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Advanced Maintenance & Repair:
Perform complex repairs and adjustments on corrugator plant machinery, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and rollers.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, utilize advanced troubleshooting skills and tools, and understanding of electrical diagnostics and the ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints
Conduct preventive maintenance tasks based on schedules and maintenance plans to reduce equipment failure and extend machinery life.
Preventive Maintenance Program Execution:
Follow and implement the preventive maintenance program by conducting regular inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements as necessary.
Identify and address potential issues proactively to prevent unplanned downtime.
Maintain detailed records of preventive maintenance activities, ensuring accurate documentation of parts and supplies used.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices.
Maintain awareness of potential hazards in the plant and report any safety concerns to the supervisor.
Participate in safety drills and stay updated with company safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Mentorship & Training:
Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics (Maintenance Mechanic I), assisting them with troubleshooting and repair tasks.
Share best practices, tools, and techniques to enhance the skills and knowledge of less experienced team members.
Assist in training new hires on safety procedures, equipment operation, and maintenance protocols.
Inventory & Parts Management:
Monitor inventory levels for critical maintenance supplies, such as parts, lubricants, and tools.
Communicate inventory needs to the supervisor to ensure continuous availability of essential items.
Track usage of parts and supplies, assisting in maintaining accurate inventory records.
Documentation & Reporting:
Complete detailed work orders and maintenance records for all completed tasks, documenting repairs, part replacements, and any identified issues.
Report recurring mechanical issues to the supervisor, recommending potential modifications or replacements to improve equipment reliability.
Communicate effectively with the maintenance and production teams to ensure alignment on machinery performance and any planned maintenance or repairs.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
Participate in improvement initiatives focused on increasing equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Suggest modifications and upgrades to machinery based on performance trends and recurring issues.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for enhancing plant operations and minimizing downtime.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in industrial maintenance or mechanics preferred.
3-5 years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and troubleshooting techniques.
Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
Comfortable working in a noisy, industrial environment with exposure to oils, grease, and chemicals.
Manual dexterity for precise mechanical work and the ability to use diagnostic tools.
Work Environment:
The Maintenance Mechanic II works in the corrugator plant and maintenance shop, where exposure to heavy machinery, noise, and temperature variations is common. Strict adherence to safety protocols is essential to ensure personal and team safety.

Efficiency in Maintenance and Repairs: Timeliness and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing equipment issues.
Reliability in Preventive Maintenance: Consistent completion of preventive tasks to reduce equipment failure.
Safety Adherence: Full compliance with safety standards, with a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards.
Mentorship and Team Contribution: Effective mentorship of junior mechanics and collaboration with the maintenance team.
Reports to: Shop Supervisor
**Shift and Schedule:** 8 hours, with overtime and weekend availability required.
Must be able to work all shifts.
