AVP, Claim - Casualty Manager (Finance)
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will be responsible for the administrative management, staff development and technical claim results for Chubb's Direct Handle Complex Commercial Claims Team. The individual will be responsible for delivering excellent financial and service results as well as a high-quality product involving commercial bodily injury and property damage claims. The position will also be responsible for developing staff, succession planning and executing strategies to achieve goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient/consistent delivery of service to our customers and business partners that meets or exceeds Chubb's standards and complies with all applicable statutes/regulations within the assigned jurisdiction(s).

Responsibilities:
- Train, develop and manage a team of claim professionals that handle high severity and complex coverage issues and developing and executing on individual professional development plans for each team member
- Recognize significant potential exposures in claims and prepare appropriate alerts to senior managers and our internal business partners.
- Appropriately manage severity exposures in a timely manner, including but not limited to early identification and reporting of a severity exposure, and the development and execution of investigation, evaluation, and resolution strategies.
- Train and develop the team to appropriately identify, analyze and address coverage issues in a timely and professional manner, and communicate coverage positions to our internal and external business partners as warranted.
- Directs and closely monitors cases with financial impact through trial/resolution.
- Authorize reserve and settlement authority in a timely manner or make recommendations to management as warranted.
- Conduct monthly audits against Best Practices standards.
- Provide exceptional service to our internal and external business partners.
- Adhere to individual authority grants, all statutory and regulatory requirements, fair claim practices and local compliance requirements, including licensing.
