Schedule: Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Purpose:
Responsible for understanding the delivery routes and transportation procedures.
Essential Functions:
Calls vendors and confirms order pickups.
Completes packets with necessary information for drivers.
Delivers packets to receiving office.
Completes Incoming Report in a timely manner.
Collects and processes packets from previous days backhauls.
Confirms all invoices from previous day.
Processes DVCR'S and checks against updated / revised schedule.
Informs a supervisor or manager of any discrepancies in paperwork
Physical Environment/ Demands:
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
Infrequently exposed to temperatures ranging from 20 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the dock area or outside the work area
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Experience:
Transportation/Dispatch experience preferred but not required Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
Understanding of Safety guidelines
Must have the ability to react to fast-paced, stressful situations in a calm, professional and efficient manner
Ability to prioritize and work independently with good organizational and time management skills.
Must have good communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
Astute, close attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
Familiar with delivery routes and DOT rules and regulations
Understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes
