Mortgage Processor (Finance)
Partner with Originators and Underwriters to actively manage their individual loan pipeline, ensuring key dates and benchmarks as well as production standards are met.
Review loan files for completeness prior to submission to underwriting
Review and verify each file to ensure that all information is correct and current.
Gather and organize residential mortgage documentation by collecting sales contracts, credit reports, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tax transcripts, appraisals, title commitments, flood certificates, etc., according to established policies and procedures.
Act as a liaison by maintaining communication between customers and all parties involved in the transaction.
Gather information for loan conditions and submissions for final loan approval; communicate loan statuses to Originators, Underwriters, and Secondary Market personnel.
Prepare approved loans for closing and coordinate closing with lenders, borrowers and title companies.
Order necessary verifications such as VOEs, VODs, VOMs, subordination requests, etc.
Prioritize workflow so loans close on time.
Provide excellent customer service to borrower, loan officer, vendors, realtors, attorneys, and other interested parties.
Send out approval and denial letters
All operations have specific deadlines to meet or exceed.
Post-closing procedures such as booking loan to Somerset Trust Company core operating system; packaging loans sold to Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) and Citizens Home Loans, obtain guarantees from United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Provide support to other mortgage processors on a daily basis.
Work closely with STC Settlement Services to meet their needs.
Understand and support all BSA/AML responsibilities as applicable to the position as well as consistently, accurately, and timely carry out these responsibilities in compliance with the Bank's internal policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, you will provide general information, training, direction and assistance to mortgage loan processor group.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) Good understanding of financial institution products and services. Residential mortgage loan processing experience is a plus. Basic understanding of loan processing and closing policies, procedures, documents, underwriting requirements, government and agency requirements, and terminology.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and bank core operating system. Ability to work with various browser-based systems and software systems is mandatory. Must be willing to learn new systems and not have any issues with emerging technology.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret various documents such as procedure manuals, ability to write routine correspondence. Possess excellent organization skills, ability to read and interpret reports, and work quickly and efficiently while providing the utmost accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to interpret and analyze data.
REASONING ABILITY: Capable of working under pressure from internal and external customers to meet deadlines and maintaining a high degree of diplomacy and tact. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Desire to understand and utilize systems to their utmost capabilities. Ability to work within a team environment. Ability to use available information to make decisions.
