PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Rental Branch Manager will manage the construction division's rental operations for a designated branch in a manner that promotes superior customer service, maintains efficient operations and maximizes profitability and return on assets. In addition to leading the Rental Development Program to train the next generation of GP Rental Associates.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education :
A four-year degree, preferably in business or marketing
Work Experience :
5 years minimum experience in operational/service experience, preferably in rental equipment activities with 3 years group leadership.
Physical :
The ability to periodically travel, via car and/or airplane and stay overnight
Other :
Must have an intermediate skill level in using PC software, primarily MS Word, Excel and Access; Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable record; Must have excellent customer relations skills;

In addition to leading the Rental Development Program to train the next generation of GP Rental Associates.\n \n \nESSENTIAL DUTIES:\n \nOperational Leadership\n \n\nManages rental operations providing superior customer service and a "can do" attitude by maintaining a staff of well trained, highly motivated employees\nManages rental inventory in a manner to maximize profitability and market penetration. Maintains proper inventory levels. Works with Rental Operations Manager on rental fleet retirement.\nEstablishes and monitors procedures to ensure proper maintenance on rental units and manages costs to remain within acceptable levels.\nDevelops and monitors processes to ensure proper billings, documentation and paper flow.\nMaintains adequate reporting system to establish benchmarks and tracks performance of rental fleet, i.e., maintenance costs, utilization and ROA. Manages expenses to achieve financial targets. \nReviews monthly P&L statements for accuracy and takes appropriate corrective actions to improve operational income/profitability. \nWorks with Rental Operations Manager in planning and developing rental equipment processes and support to provide superior customer satisfaction and maximize efficiencies.\n\n \nGroup Leadership\n \n\nProvides daily and long-term leadership for the direct report associates to include but not be limited to the following activities:\nInterviewing and Hiring\nCoaching \nRental Development Program\nTraining and Developing\nCounseling and Disciplining\nDismissing\n\n \nSite Administration\n \n\nProvides management for rental, hauling, and rental service. Manages general office business activities as needed.\nEstablishes and monitors rental, hauling, and rental service goals and results including location condition, job and performance standards, time utilization and performance of associates, etc.\nEnsures operations are efficient.\nEvaluates overall quality of operational activities and implement actions to provide the best customer service while ensuring necessary profitability.\nMonitors all company property to ensure proper maintenance (i.e. vehicles, building, tooling, etc.)\nEnsures all required reports and operational bookkeeping is submitted in a timely manner.\nEnsures cash sale collection procedures are followed.\n\n \nBusiness development and management activities \n \n\nDevelops and administers annual rental budgets and monitors expenditures to ensure the most cost-effective and efficient utilization of resources. (associates, fiscal, and capital)\n\n\nConducts periodic customer site visits to promote rental and rental service activities.\n\n\nInforms sales representatives of new and used sales opportunities.\n\n \nRental Coordination \n \n\nManages or resolves customers' rental/sales complaints and problems to the best customer satisfaction level possible.\nDaily monitors equipment rental/sales schedule and immediately contacts customers with any schedule updates, modifications, or delivery problems. \nInforms sales and rental representatives of rental/sales fleet inventory, activity, and rates.\nAssists with telephone collection of past due rental/sales payments.\nMeets with customers to discuss, negotiate, and close rental/sales fleet sales that are within established guidelines.\n\n \nEquipment /Inventory\n \n\nEnsures rental/sales units are operational by coordinating repairs and maintenance with rental service technicians. \nApproves some equipment service work orders.\nMaintains current and accurate service records for each unit.\nEstablishes and maintains rental fleet at approved inventory levels \nMaintains current inventory usage records and ensures accurate and timely billing.\n\n \nBookkeeping/Invoicing\n \n\nExpedites customer credit applications in a timely manner allowing them to rent equipment.\nOpens, maintains, and closes work orders (i.e., look up customer account job and component codes, warranty status, enter into mainframe).\nVerifies, logs, codes, and processes billing/invoices.\nIssues, extends, and enters purchase orders for outside vendors.\nOccasionally types correspondence, memos, quotes, records, reports, etc.\n\n \n \nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: \n \nEducation:\nA four-year degree, preferably in business or marketing \n \nWork Experience:\n5 years minimum experience in operational/service experience, preferably in rental equipment activities with 3 years group leadership. \n \nPhysical:\nThe ability to periodically travel, via car and/or airplane and stay overnight\n \nOther:\nMust have an intermediate skill level in using PC software, primarily MS Word, Excel and Access; Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable record; Must have excellent customer relations skills;\n \n \nThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
