Who are we looking for?

The Medical Scheduler plays a vital role in maintaining employee schedules to ensure patient care and staffing needs are met in compliance with state, company, and facility guidelines.

Essential Duties

Scheduling & Coordination:

• Create, maintain, and post work schedules.
• Coordinate schedule variances with the Director of Nursing Services (DNS).
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure no vacancies in the schedule.

Administrative Tasks:

• Complete and file reports as per established policies.
• Keep the business office updated with current department manager contact information.
• Help staff accurately complete forms, such as leave requests and timecards.

Monitoring & Reporting:

• Report excessive tardiness or absenteeism to the DNS as per facility policy.
• Monitor and address scheduling issues to improve operations.

Staffing Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
• Obtain and manage nursing care staff data for daily posting requirements.

Collaboration & Problem-Solving:

• Work with nursing department staff and supervisors to resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Assist in problem identification and implement solutions for better service.

Other Duties:

• Perform miscellaneous staffing-related tasks.
• Provide support to nursing supervisors as needed.

Confidentiality & Compliance

• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information (PHI).
• Report suspected or known violations of PHI disclosure to the Administrator.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: At least one year of experience using nursing home scheduling software (preferred).

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None.
