PRIMARY FUNCTION :
Paid internship opportunity with Gregory Poole's Power Generation Service Operation's Team. Associates participating in the internship program will be based in Garner but can expect occasional travel outside of the Raleigh area. Our EPG service group provides customer assistance in Central and Eastern North Carolina. This is an exciting development opportunity for college students pursuing a BA/BS or graduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related fields. The power generation service operations business is fast paced; successful team members are high energy and are team / customer oriented. Our focus is on providing a high level of customer satisfaction and service excellence.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Education :
College junior or senior pursuing a related BA/BS or graduate degree in electrical, mechanical, agricultural engineering or related fields.
Work Experience :
Basic mechanical and product knowledge is desirable.
Physical:
Must be able to work for extended periods while seated. Must be able to work around, climb onto various pieces of equipment at customer site locations.
Must have the ability to clearly communicate with internal / external customers on the phone or in person. Excellent customer relations are a must.
Other:
Required basic level skills with keyboard and Microsoft software, preferably Excel and Word.
Driver's license.

Our focus is on providing a high level of customer satisfaction and service excellence.\n \nGeography Breakdown:\n\n70% Raleigh/Triangle Area\n30% Travel (Eastern North Carolina) \n\n \nESSENTIAL DUTIES:\n \n\nIntroduction to the different areas and job roles associated with the EPG Service department. This includes shadowing various positions within the service department.\nIntroduction to our industries' safety standards and the GPEC safety culture.\nAssist with technical reviews of service projects. Highlight specific items on specification and general review that affect the progression of service projects.\nReview quote specifications to source accessories and miscellaneous components from Caterpillar or Non-Cat vendors.\nPrepare submittals and manuals as required for completion of service projects. This could also include the use of AutoCAD to produce electrical schematics for completed jobs.\nConduct on-site visitation of projects as needed to prepare for service operations or equipment installation.\nConduct on-site visits of customer locations as needed to assist in PSSR with quoting activities.\nAssist PSSR's to review and define project scopes for quoted jobs and/or turn-key projects to ensure accuracy in materials, labor, parts and miscellaneous items for accuracy.\nAssist with designs solutions for temporary equipment for emergency backup power for jobsites.\nOnce you have completed the program, provide a detailed account of your work experience, and share the highlights and challenges that you encountered.
